Michael Hofmann
Always being a 'solution oriented' person, Michael looked at problems as always having a solution, but what's even better? A solution that can grow your company. From the first day his dad put a wrench in his hand, Michael looked at the world as a system. Meaning the everything has a purpose, hence everything started as a problem that need to be resolved. His dad was fed up with him taking everything in the house apart so he gave him his first car at 13 and was told by his dad " Take this apart!". That's only the beginning of the story.
Finding the love of his life in 2nd year German class, He married Tonya Hofmann and open a retail store called Grey Matter Science and Nature. Specializing on the needs of the community in education, science supplies, and science birth parties. Showing kids that science and education is fun. Growing his business to over 1/2 million in annual sales.
When it was time for him to grow his family, he made a decision to move to Austin, Tx. Fresh in the city, He became a sales manager for a major retailer. Training dozens of sales people to create a healthy sales environment. That position allowed him to move into a company that provided IT/IS solutions to the State of Texas. As project manger for 183a and other road construction projects, he was in charge of software and website client solutions for these major projects. With a team of developers and graphic designers, he was able to grow the company to many states.
This led Tonya and him to create Your Local City. A company determine to connect businesses and owners together online and via networking groups. As the Chief Technology Officer, it was his job to bring the real world and the internet world together across many platforms from desktops, laptops, tablets, and cell phones. Creating and providing support for many web applications and systems, Michael was able to create and test many solutions that are now part of his training and support programs as a coach, business developer, and programmer.
With Your Local City in full swing, he saw a need for businesses to retool and use the internet in a better way. He and Tonya formed Stand Out In Your Business as a way to reach businesses and clients for the purpose of presenting them the systems that he and Tonya created with Your Local City. We can now positively impact business owners in a larger scale out side of Austin and Texas.
